School Story:
SDHS was a part of my life early on when my cousin, Joanee, and I would get fired up for football games. Long before we were in high school, we would decorate Daddy's car and use the punchouts from computer cards that Mother brought home as confetti for celebrating touchdowns.
My high school memories began when I was part of the marching band in the eighth grade. Those five years of half-time shows and concerts were great. Lots of stories from those years!
Teachers played a major role in my life. Mrs. Bond, Ms. Cartwright, and, of course, wonderful Miss Swingle were awesome. Tommye Byington, who lives here again after years in Alaska, was a powerful influence in my wanting to be a teacher.
Thanks to all of you who made high school fun and memorable, especially Lynn, Suzanne, Tommy, band buddies, majorettes, and yearbook friends.
